| "Really Good Shit: 2013" This is a collection of songs that I listened to many times during 2013. Some are new, some are new discoveries, and some are songs from my past that I rediscovered. Below is the complete track list of this compilation along with the reasons why I listened to each track so much. Thanks to social media, a lot of friends introduced me to some great stuff without even knowing it. To hear it for yourself, just click the link below to download the whole album! (about 310 MB as a zip file, songs are AAC files) |

"Glass" | MØ | I still love all things MØ. This was her first new song released in 2013 along with a video. I just wish she would finally release something in the US. Everything has been in Denmark only which is a pain in the ass. | |
"I've Seen Footage" | Death Grips | I finally caught up with the albums that Death Grips had released since I first heard the "mixtape" called Exmilitary. Though I downloaded 3 albums at once, I started with Money Store and listened to it so obsessively that I haven't even gotten to the other two albums yet. This song is just the best. | |
"Breakfast Song" | Gold Lip | This is another song that I heard first on fuckyouverymuch.dk. It's not even a music blog, but usually when they post something that is a music video I usually like it. They are apparently reading my mind. This song seems to originally have been a couple of musicians who got together and made this one song. They even changed the name of the "group" a couple of times since initally posting it. You can find the video here. | |
"Welcome" | Balam Acab | I heard of this album because Grimes had suggested it in her "What's In My Bag" video. She is obviously very young and kind of a doofus, but she was right on with this suggestion! | |
"Folk Hero Schtick" | Yeasayer | Though I got this album in 2012 when it was released, I listened to it a lot in 2013 and this was my favorite song. Not quite as strong as the previous album, but it's still worth your time. | |
